While I did grow up on a Pacific Northwest island, I still find that there is something magical that separates the San Juan’s from other Washington islands. Maybe it’s the slow pace, or the drier climate, or the open country road and farm animals. Whatever the reason, it’s my favorite summer escape and a weekend trip to Friday Harbor this weekend was no exception.
We biked every country road, looping around the island and enjoying the downhill thrills after a few leg burning climbs. We ate an insanely good meal at Backdoor Kitchen and watched locals dance at a local pub. And today we biked one of the most beautiful back roads loading to Lime Kiln Point State.
I love that the adventure was possible in just one night.
Until next time, Friday Harbor.
Fabulous! Makes me want to take the trip myself, and brings back great memories of time spent in the San Juans years ago. Thanks again Jori.
