This Sunday I wanted to mix it up and do something that’s always been on my Seattle bucket list – tackle the Queen Anne Stairs. 35 staircases and 1.5 hours later, I was thoroughly worked. However, it was an amazing way to take in the city and will definitely repeat once I recover.
We parked down on South Lake Union to take Galer to the top of the hill.
Nothing like an impromptu game of hopscotch to mix up the stairs.
Galer street seems to never end.
Finally a flat road.
And my favorite flowers of Spring.
So many stairs.
My first time seeing the views from Kerry Park.
Love South Lake Union.
Celebration. Want to try it for yourself? We found this nifty map and combined the orange and purple routes.
Love those Galer street stairs–they go right by the east side of the house where I lived in ’82-83 and where Karla and I were married. Spent many hours walking around there, and remember well the view from Kerry Park. Awesome! reminds me a little of the Stillwater MN ciircuit, which you’ll have to blog about when you’re out here next!! Once again, great photos, and thanks for the vicarious visit!
